The board has a cross shape with only the center space empty. Choose a peg, jump over an adjacent peg into the empty space beyond it (like capturing a piece in chess), and the peg you jumped over disappears. Repeat this until exactly one peg remains.
Rules: You must jump over an adjacent peg horizontally or vertically (no diagonals). The peg you jump over and the empty landing space must be in a straight line, and the landing space must be empty.

💡 On the standard 33-hole board, a perfect solution exists that leaves the final peg in the exact center. There is also a French-style 37-hole version. You may still get stuck even with your best moves; when that happens, restart and try a different order.
